It is made from a waterproof cardboard held up by a rigid plastic frame, which also provides a lockable compartment for valuables.

The plastic frame is reusable and, best of all, the cardboard is easy to dispose of and recyclable. Flaked out festival goers can simply use and then leave it behind with no cause for guilt and organizers can easily dispose cardboard shelters with no come back from local authority refuse officials.

MyHab ticks all the boxes: it is a well designed product, aimed at an expanding, affluent audience. And, it buys into the ethical product sector, a niche market that is expanding exponentially. Recognising this consumer trend was not difficult but could you innovate to make the most of it?

Turning Cardboard into Gold

Innovating from Winning Insights

Recognising consumer trends is of paramount importance to profitable business. Couple this with the ability to originate new attention grabbing ideas and success is extremely likely. These two key elements come together in MyHab, an eco-friendly shelter designed for music festivals. Reacting to widespread current interest in environmentally conscious lifestyle choices, Design Stream has been working with MyHab to target the thousands of festival goers with a green conscience.

The shelter design responds to people leaving behind muddy tents at the end of festivals. Last year 10,000 tents were abandoned and organisers have a duty to dispose of them responsibly. MyHab is designed and manufactured to strict energy conscious guidelines.
